Sally is a corporate lawyer with strong mergers and acquisitions (M&A), equity capital markets and commercial contract experience. She is the National Service Line Leader of the firm’s Corporate Advisory team.
Sally’s experience covers a broad range of sectors and industries but it’s her reputation in the energy and resources sector that is particularly strong—she has been recognised as a leading legal practitioner in the Chambers Asia Pacific Legal directory since 2013.
What she does
Sally has extensive experience providing corporate and commercial advice to clients. Her M&A expertise includes public company takeovers, advising on schemes of arrangement, private equity transactions as well as share and asset acquisitions and disposals. She has broad fundraising and securities law expertise acting on IPOs (including dual and secondary listings), placements and rights issues.
Sally also advises clients on foreign investment rules and regulations, complex contractual arrangements, ASX Listing Rules, Corporations Act 2001 and corporate governance requirements.

Sally works with a wide range of Australian and international companies—from small, privately held corporations to large, publicly listed companies.
Qualifications
Sally has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (International Relations/English) from the Australian National University.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Sally was a Partner at Dentons. Sally also has in-house experience having been seconded to a listed global facility services provider.
Life outside of Sparkes
Sally enjoys swimming in ocean rock pools, travelling to exotic locations and running after her two young daughters. She also enjoys a good Netflix binge, time permitting, preferably while munching on something delicious that she whipped up in the kitchen.
