All.Workplace.Safety

There are increasing numbers of workers who are injured or killed when handling materials manually or using mechanical aids, such as forklifts, trolleys or hand pallet jacks.

In an article first published by National Safety magazine, our Partner Jackson Inglis and Lawyer Bridget Bennett take companies and persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) back to the basics on how they can identify the risks of manual handling, how they can assess whether they can eliminate or minimise those risks and the next steps they can take to control the risk and put policies and training in place. Jackson and Bridget also look at the outcome of some recent Court decisions and the introduction of in industrial manslaughter offence in Queensland.
