Jehan is an experienced insurance litigator with a strong background in professional indemnity, professional negligence, casualty line and health law claims. She is passionate about health law, medical and professional ethics, legislative and contractual interpretation and works with insurers and corporations on a wide range of general liability claims.
Jehan also provides coverage advice to insurers and pursues recovery actions for first party property losses. She is known for her clear and succinct advice, strong negotiation skills and highly strategic and proactive approach to dispute resolution.
What she does
Jehan's practice incorporates liability, personal injury, professional indemnity and specialist fields such as medical negligence, aviation, building construction and property damage claims. She specialises in professional negligence and international casualty claims, and disciplinary proceedings involving insurers, corporations and health professionals.
Jehan has extensive experience running matters in all jurisdictions, including the Disciplinary Boards, the Coroner's Court of Victoria, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and State and Commonwealth courts of all levels.
Who she works with
Jehan represents Australian and international insurers and corporates with large deductibles/self-insured retentions in general liability claims. She also acts for local and international professional indemnity insurers and health services providers, including aged care facilities and individual health professionals.
Qualifications
Jehan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) with a major in Psychology from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and completed her Bachelor of Laws in 2006. Jehan was admitted to practice in 2009 and joined Sparke Helmore in 2012.
In 2019, Jehan completed "Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age" - a course through Harvard University's Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning.
Life before Sparkes
In the past, Jehan has worked for Clayton Utz and Meridian Lawyers, which has given her a true appreciation of the perspectives of insurer clients as well as understanding the nitty gritty of litigation and alternate dispute resolution where required. This allows her to get to the heart of matters and resolve them quickly and efficiently.
Life outside of Sparkes
When not at work, Jehan enjoys Formula 1 and motorbike racing. She loves to travel, experience new cultures and listen to music.
