Sparke Helmore is pleased to announce the promotions of Shannon Steed to Special Counsel and Siddharth Laha to Senior Associate effective from 1 January 2023. The promotions show the depth of talent across our firm with Shannon in Brisbane and Siddharth in our Canberra office.

Shannon Steed

Shannon is part of our Commercial Insurance practice and has more than 10 years' experience, predominantly in the insurance industry, working with defendants and large self-insurers. She mainly practises in the areas of worker's compensation, public liability, property damage and debt recovery. She advises on indemnity, liability, contribution, quantum and third party recoveries.

Shannon also assists senior members of her team with all aspects of claims management, in addition to her own file load. She understands the sometimes conflicting interests of her clients and has learnt how to balance these while taking a commercial approach to her matters.

Siddharth Laha

Siddharth is an experienced commercial and corporate lawyer in our Government Practice. He provides pragmatic and trusted legal advice to Commonwealth agencies across a range of procurement and contracting, probity, privacy and commercial matters.

Siddharth works with in-house legal teams, client areas and other external advisors on contracting issues and disputes as well as significant procurement projects and probity requirements, including drafting contracts and tender documentation. Siddharth prides himself on his ability to ensure that clients receive practical and holistic solutions to their problems.
