Workplace Health and Safety for Officers
This course, designed for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) officers, will equip participants with an understanding of the roles, responsibilities and expectations of Commonwealth officers from a WHS perspective, as well as practical steps to discharge the WHS officer due diligence duty in everyday practice.
Course overview
Delivered over two hours, the course will cover:
- relevant legal and policy frameworks, case law and industry developments
- the roles and responsibilities of duty holders under the WHS laws
- who an ‘officer’ is for the purposes of the WHS laws
- the personal, positive and proactive officer due diligence duty
- how officers can practically discharge their duties, and
- consequences for non-compliance.
CPD eligibility: 2 points
