Wendy is a senior commercial and corporate lawyer with a focus on procurement, corporate advisory and information technology. She is well-known for her commercial acumen, having gained experience through in-house and private practice.
What she does
Wendy advises clients on procurement, supply, contracting, contract management, corporate advice, commercialisation of technology and governance.
Who she works with
Wendy’s clients are corporate and non-corporate Commonwealth entities, universities and private businesses. She works with in-house legal teams, client areas and other external advisors to ensure clients receive practical and holistic solutions and advice.
Qualifications
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University. She has also successfully completed the Resolution Institute’s Probity Accreditation Course.
Life before Sparkes
Wendy has been a partner in a national law firm as well as General Counsel for an information technology company. Most recently, she worked for a Canberra based firm in its commercial and corporate department.
Life outside of Sparkes
Wendy is a member of the board of Solarshare Community Energy Ltd—a community-owned solar energy company based in Canberra.
When on holiday, Wendy has been known to put cemetery visits at the top of her itinerary—she has a profound interest in heritage and ancestry. She can recite the full names of her great, great grandparents and loves solving genealogical puzzles. Suffice to say, Wendy is an asset when it comes to the history and geography questions at trivia nights. You’ll definitely want her on your team!
