Victoria advises a wide range of professional people in professional indemnity claims, including other lawyers, and in commercial disputes.
With respect to professional indemnity claims, Victoria is retained by large Australian insurers to defend their clients who become involved in litigation and advises insurance company clients on policy coverage issues, financial reserving and strategic litigation management.
Victoria also acts in a wide range of commercial disputes, including those involving technology, intellectual property and real and personal property. She regularly appears in the Supreme Court and in other tribunals.
Victoria works with insurers, insureds and commercial clients and individuals, including directors and shareholders, and landlords and tenants.
Victoria has an LPAB Diploma in Law and a Masters of Law from the University of Technology Sydney.
Victoria returned to Sparkes in 2010 after working for four years at a well-known Sydney CBD intellectual property firm. Her first stint at Sparkes was between 2001 and 2005, and before that, she worked at a small Sydney CBD firm specialising in commercial litigation.
Victoria is a working mum with a young family whose weekends are filled with sport, parties and catching up with family and friends. She is a keen skier, reader and gardener, and occasionally manages to squeeze in a game of golf.
