Theo Casimatis

What he does

Theo has the legal skills and commercial nous to assist public and private entities at all stages of a project from obtaining financing to acquisition and development, titling, leasing and divestment. With more than 30 years spent advising the property sector, his diverse knowledge goes well beyond property law and extends to resolving disputes, environmental issues and managing complex projects with a deft hand.

Who he works with

Theo works primarily with public and private managed funds, listed companies, government departments, developers and high wealth entities.

Qualifications

Theo has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws degree.

Life before Sparkes

For many years Theo was a partner with Middletons, now K & L Gates, before joining Sparke Helmore in 2004 with Leon Sakaris to strengthen the firm's property practice.

Life outside of Sparkes

Theo loves sport generally and rugby union in particular as he played the game in his youth. Now he's content to watch it, along with rugby league and cricket, his other favourite spectator sports.

In addition to the board positions he has held for legal firms (including Sparke Helmore), Theo is currently a non-executive board member for a large rural plant and equipment distributor and on an advisory committee for a well-known real estate organisation as well as for a major player in the NSW construction industry.
