Stephanie practices across commercial insurance litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on professional indemnity, solicitors’ negligence and financial lines claims. Clients value working with Stephanie because she is efficient, responsive and takes her clients on the claims journey with her, whilst providing strategic and practical advice. Her clients and peers also value her support for, and mentoring of, her team members to foster collaborative legal thinking and a positive team culture. What she does
Stephanie supports her professional clients navigate those difficult professional moments when claims are made against them. She regularly assists her clients to resolve disputes in a variety of areas of law involving allegations of professional error, breaches of duty and issues requiring detailed analysis of liability and causation arguments. She understands the personal and reputational challenges this may bring and the disruption it causes to her clients’ own work. Stephanie helps her professional clients defend the claims that ought to be defended and settle the claims that ought to settle. Stephanie also advises professional indemnity insurers in relation to indemnity, defence costs management and strategic handling of claims.
Who she works with
Stephanie works with professional indemnity and financial lines insurers and their professional insureds. Stephanie has a focus on solicitors’ professional negligence and so commonly works with solicitors across New South Wales to resolve claims.
Qualifications
Stephanie has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Physiology) from the University of New England.
Life before Sparkes
Aside from some paralegal work Stephanie did whilst studying, Stephanie has been at Sparkes the entirety of her legal career.
Life outside of Sparkes
Stephanie enjoys ballet, board games and spending time with her young family and friends.
