Robert is a government procurement and probity specialist experienced in advising on complex acquisitions, technology and communication assets, and logistics. Most recently he has been looking at the impact of AI on procurement and probity.
What he does
Robert advises departments and agencies on all aspects of major projects and commercial transactions, including procurement strategies, tender and contract development, intellectual property, risk and performance management, probity, compliance, negotiations and contract management, including in relation to AI.
Robert was recognised in Best Lawyers 2024.
Who he works with
Robert works with large government departments and agencies at both a Commonwealth and State level.
Qualifications
Robert has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Legal Studies.
Life before Sparkes
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore in 2014, Robert worked at a top-tier law firm and for the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department.
Life outside of Sparkes
Robert has a long-standing interest in modern and indigenous art. When time permits, he wanders through Melbourne's commercial galleries looking for new talent or visits the National Gallery of Victoria. One of his ambitions in life is to visit each of the major galleries in the world.
When not at a gallery, Robert enjoys keeping fit, and most importantly he likes nothing more than spending time playing with his young son.
