Paul advises clients involved in infrastructure projects, building developments and the procurement of major plant and equipment. Paul has significant experience in all forms of dispute resolution, including arbitration, adjudication, expert determination, conciliation, mediation and litigation.

Qualifications

Paul has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Masters of Laws. He is a former Director of the Society of Construction Law Australia and guest lecturer in the University of Melbourne's Masters in Construction Law program.

Life before Sparkes

Paul began his legal career at Clayton Utz, spending eight years in its construction and major projects team. During that time he gained international experience when based in Taipei where he acted for the owner, developer and operator of the privately financed Taiwan High Speed Rail Project. Paul also has extensive in-house experience, having been the senior legal counsel with railway operator, Pacific National.

Life outside of Sparkes

Other than snowboarding, there is nothing Paul loves more than food; whether he's cooking at home or sharing a meal with family and friends. Between meals Paul can be caught daydreaming about ground swells and deep powder snow.
