Myles has extensive experience in a range of insurance practice areas, including personal injury, property damage, product liability, professional indemnity, coverage, and aviation. His primary focus through his career has been personal injury and property damage litigation, as well as coverage disputes.
What he does
Myles advises and acts in the defence of a variety of aviation, aerospace and airport related claims including passenger liability claims, claims and property damage. Through his diverse insurance experience, Myles understands the commercial realities facing his clients and the importance of taking a strategic approach to claims at every stage.
Who he works with
Myles acts for Australian and international insurers and reinsurers, predominantly in the sphere of aviation and aerospace.
Qualifications
In addition to a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Sydney, Myles also holds a Master of Laws (International Law) from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) from the University of Western Sydney. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Life before Sparkes
Myles has practised in insurance litigation for over 10 years. He commenced his career in a boutique insurance practice before working as a senior lawyer in a global insurance firm practising in catastrophic personal injury litigation and coverage. Just before moving to Sparkes, Myles was a Special Counsel in a national insurance firm specialising in casualty and professional indemnity litigation.
Life outside of Sparkes
Outside of work, Myles enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, and pursuing the endlessly unattainable goal of mastering his golf game. He is tragically devoted to the Sydney Swans, spending much of the year both excited for and dreading the prospect of travelling to the MCG on the last Saturday of September.
