Liz is an administrative lawyer who focuses on Commonwealth compensation and administrative law. She also has an interest in work health and safety (WHS) law. She advises clients on a range of issues and represents clients in litigated proceedings before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

Liz works with Commonwealth Government Departments and Agencies, insurers and self-insured licensees.
Qualifications
Liz has a Master in Laws (LLM) from the Australian National University. Liz also has a Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Laws from Western Sydney University.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparkes in 2021, Liz was an in-house Senior Government Lawyer with Safe Work Australia and had previously worked as a Senior Government Lawyer with the Department of Home Affairs and as a Government Lawyer with Comcare. During this time, she undertook a broad range of government legal work, including the preparation of complex advices and managing high-profile litigation matters.
Life outside of Sparkes
Outside of work, Liz enjoys spending time with her young family and cooking with her kids. When she has a quiet moment, Liz enjoys reading a good book or pulling out the paints to engage her creative side.
