Lauren is a highly experienced government administrative lawyer with over seven years’ experience in the public sector performing in-house legal roles. Lauren brings valuable insights from working with clients experiencing significant legislative, environmental, and operational changes.
Lauren is also a Local Pro Bono Coordinator and coordinates pro bono activities and opportunities for the Brisbane office.
What she does
Lauren works with the government, workplace and insurance teams, advising on regulatory responsibilities, work health and safety (WHS), public interest disclosures, investigations and work injury claims. She has a wealth of expertise in administrative law, administrative decision-making, statutory interpretation and legislative development and implementation.

Lauren assists Commonwealth Government agencies and private sector organisations.
Qualifications
Lauren has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management from Griffith University. Lauren also has a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparkes, Lauren was an Acting Principal Lawyer at the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and has previously worked with the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care and Comcare.
Life outside of Sparkes
Lauren loves to bake and although she’s had some baking failures, she isn’t afraid to continue to take whisks. Lauren also enjoys keeping active, adventuring with her Golden Retriever and escaping to the coast for a swim and some sun at any opportunity.
Lauren is also a Legal Officer in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve.
