About Kylie

Kylie joined the Corporate & Commercial team as a partner in July 2023. Kylie has been admitted to practice for over 25 years and is a specialist commercial lawyer, having worked in senior roles at a number of firms throughout Queensland. She is based in Brisbane. 

What she does

Kylie is a highly-regarded lawyer with experience in corporate, commercial, dispute resolution as well as litigation.  With expertise across agribusiness, structuring and asset protection, succession planning and estate administration and litigation, she specialises in family business dispute resolution and intergenerational wealth transition planning.

Who she works with

Kylie works with medium to large family business, primary producers and industry groups in the grazing, dairy, horticulture and sugar cane industries, high net worth individuals and SMEs.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) from the University of Queensland; Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate Certificate in SMSFs through the University of Adelaide.

Life before Sparkes

Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Kylie was a partner at Holding Redlich as well as a number of other well know law firms including as a member of the Private Client team at Cooper Grace Ward Lawyers and head of Succession and Superannuation at Anderssen Lawyers.

Life outside of Sparkes

Kylie has a keen interest in the genetics of horse breeding and owns a small boutique warmblood horse stud aimed at breeding FEI quality dressage horses. When not debating horse genetics Kylie enjoys occasionally defeating her teenage children at eight-ball pool and playing very average golf.
