Janelle has over 15 years’ experience in the insurance sector. Her practice includes coverage advice and defence of claims across all major insurance lines, with a focus on financial lines, D&O, management liability, first and third party property, recoveries and life insurance.
What she does
Janelle has extensive experience in the insurance industry, providing high level advice to, and defending claims on behalf of the Australian, London and international insurance markets. She is frequently sought out for her expertise on technical coverage issues and is also involved in complex multi-party litigated disputes. Additionally, Janelle has experience in acting for all manner of professionals including financial advisers, engineers and health professionals. Her detailed and client-focussed approach consistently delivers strong commercial outcomes for her clients.
Who she works with
Janelle works with Australian and London market underwriters, brokers, and insureds of various sizes, ranging from large corporates through to sole traders. She also acts for commercial businesses and high-net worth individuals in commercial disputes.
Qualifications
Janelle holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Deakin University.
Life before Sparkes
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Janelle worked for a number of specialist insurance firms and in-house for a major national insurer.
