Gary specialises in advising Commonwealth agencies on contracting and procurement across a range of acquisition and sustainment projects.
He was previously an administrative law litigator and has substantial experience in dispute resolution involving reviews of government decisions.
Gary provides practical commercial advice to Commonwealth government clients, including drafting approach to market and tender documentation, evaluating tender responses and conducting negotiations as well as advising on contract management issues and disputes.
Gary works with Commonwealth Government departments and agencies.
Gary has a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University.
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Gary worked in in-house commercial and legal roles for Commonwealth and Territory agencies, including at the Department of Defence and the Department of Human Services.
Gary is a keen traveller and a classical singer. He played the chorus part of a picador in Carmen when Melbourne Opera toured in Canberra. He enjoys being with his family and friends but faces a perpetual struggle in successfully cooking an Ottolenghi recipe.
