Quality and consistency through collaboration

Sparke Helmore is pleased to announce that Lauren McHugh from our CTP and Casualty Insurance practices has been promoted to Partner, effective 1 January 2025.

Lauren has over 12 years of experience in the insurance industry, specialising in CTP, public liability, health—particularly medical negligence—and claims related to historical abuse.  She primarily represents insurers, doctors, allied health professionals, state and territory government bodies, and compulsory third-party insurers.

Lauren has extensive experience in advising and managing claims portfolios, which include catastrophic claims, dependency claims, and those involving mental harm.  She is adept at handling complex issues such as indemnity, vicarious liability, fraud, extension of time, causation and liability related to third-party recoveries, as well as matters concerning minor motor vehicle impacts and latent defects.

Matthew Seisun, Sparke Helmore’s CTP Insurance Practice Group Leader, expressed his pride in seeing Lauren promoted to Partner, stating, ‘This promotion is a testament to the dedication she has shown in achieving this significant career milestone. Lauren is an exceptionally talented lawyer who is highly regarded by her clients. I am excited to see her continue to grow her practice and contribute to the success of the CTP and Casualty teams.’

Lauren is based in our Adelaide office.
