Quality and consistency through collaboration

Jane Watson, who was the Principal at Scone Legal, has become a Consultant at Sparke Helmore. Jane has extensive experience in property law, rural conveyancing including water, estates, business law, and wills and succession planning, supporting an extensive range of clients throughout the Upper Hunter and beyond.

Andrew White, National Managing Partner said, ‘We are very pleased to join with the Scone Legal team. Maintaining and growing our presence in the Upper Hunter is a commitment that’s important to the firm as well as to the wider community. I have known Jane for many years and with her specialisation in rural issues, she and her team will add another dimension to the services that we offer in the region.’

Jane Watson added, ‘Bringing the Scone Legal business under the banner of Sparke Helmore is an exciting move. It allows us to provide our loyal local clients with large firm resources while maintaining the friendly, professional service we are known for.  Both firms have strong roots in the Hunter region—Sparke Helmore over 140 years and Scone Legal over 100 years—and our values strongly align, making this an excellent cultural fit.’

Scone Legal will become part of our Property Environment & Finance Practice Group, working closely with the team in the firm’s Newcastle office. With this addition, Sparke Helmore’s presence in the Hunter region grows to over 50 lawyers.
