Sparke Helmore Lawyers has appointed Workplace Group Partner Roland Hassall as Chair of the Board, effective from 10 February 2022. Roland currently leads the firm’s national Employment Service Line and is an Accredited Specialist in Employment and Industrial Law.

I have no doubt Roland’s expertise and enthusiasm will prove invaluable in this role, further contributing to the success of the firm into the future," said National Managing Partner Phillip Salem.

Phillip continued, “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Chair, Andrew White.  Andrew has undertaken the Chair role with distinction, demonstrating strong and effective leadership that has seen the firm make great strides forward in the last three years.”

Roland joined Sparke Helmore in 1992 and has more than 30 years’ experience guiding executives and managers to direct and resolve employment issues ranging from the highly complex to the more commonplace.  During his long tenure at the firm, Roland has completed a Master of Laws, worked on secondment as in-house counsel, and taken a leading role in Sparke Helmore’s community and graduate programs.

“I’m honoured to take on this role at Sparke Helmore. The Board is focused on ensuring that we create real value for our clients and our people and I’m excited to be at the helm for the next three years,” said Roland.

Roland is based in Sydney.
