Life/Accident & Health insurers are battling industry disruption and increasing regulatory pressure. Our national team supports major domestic and international underwriters with policy drafting, claims and coverage advice.

With substantial industry experience of managing distribution, underwriting and claims functions, we assist insurers with policy wording, PDS and regulatory advice for group income protection, group life and TPD and loan protection covers, accident and health covers. We also assist with AFS licence matters.  In policy coverage, we assist with letters declining claims, submissions for FOS and SCT, and litigation. 

Clients ask us to handle Life, TPD, trauma and income protection claims under retail and group policies, accident and health and travel claims, non-disclosure and fraudulent claims in all Australian jurisdictions, including matters before the FOS and SCT. We also advise on A&H claims for a range of clients, through our panel appointments to global and national insurers—and through our pro bono practice.  Our track record includes successfully defending claims before FOS, NCAT and QCAT. We also deal with professional liability claims flowing from arranging and transacting life insurance business–—and advise on death, disability and unemployment claims, and issues arising out of distributing consumer credit insurance.
