Shelley advises on Commonwealth workers' compensation and administrative law. She manages matters from their inception to contested hearings in both the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Federal Court.
Shelley advises Commonwealth Government departments and insurers on liability, quantum and settlement prospects of workers' compensation matters and also provides strategic advice from the claims management stage through to appeals litigated in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Federal Court. Shelley represents clients in alternative dispute resolution.
Shelley works closely with Commonwealth Government departments and agencies, insurers and self-insured licensees.
Shelley has a Bachelor of Media and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Macquarie University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law.
Starting at Sparkes as a summer clerk and then joining the graduate program, Shelley gained experience in commercial litigation, compulsory third party insurance and major claims, and employment and safety law, before finding her passion in Commonwealth compensation law in the Insurance Group.
One of Shelley's great loves is music. She spends much of her spare time listening to it, reading and talking about it, and seeing it live. Shelley will otherwise be found wining and dining with friends and family at Sydney's bars and restaurants.
