Sarah is a highly experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with over 10 years’ experience. Sarah is recognised for her in-depth knowledge and experience advising on a variety of corporate and commercial matters including specific expertise for large-scale transactions. Sarah brings a pragmatic approach to her work that is well-regarded by clients.
What she does
Sarah works with the corporate advisory and M&A team at Sparke Helmore advising on commercial transactions including share sales and purchases, corporate structuring and restructuring, business sales and purchases, and mergers and acquisitions. She also assists clients with their commercial and corporate advisory work, including shareholders agreements, engagement terms and drafting or advising on a variety of commercial agreements.

Sarah works with SMEs, ASX listed companies and international conglomerates as well as start-ups across an expansive range of sectors.
Qualifications
Sarah has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. She has also completed the Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparkes, Sarah was a Senior Associate at a boutique commercial law firm based in Newcastle, NSW. Sarah has also previously worked at mid-tier firms in both Sydney and Newcastle.
Sarah is the current Chairperson of Prelude Australia Early Childhood and Therapy Supports Limited and Non-Executive Director of Hunter Young Professionals.
Life outside of Sparkes
Sarah’s two passions outside of work are netball and dogs. Sarah has been a volunteer with Dog Rescue Newcastle since 2017 and has three rescue staffies of her own – Ruby, Daisy and Rocky. Sarah is also an avid netballer playing multiple times a week. When she’s not playing netball, she is usually organising a team social activity.
