Pietro is an experienced solicitor-advocate and insurance litigator who specialises in Commonwealth workers’ compensation, social security and administrative law. He regularly appears in merits and judicial review proceedings at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and has also appeared at the Federal Court.
What he does
Pietro enjoys working collaboratively with his clients in Commonwealth administrative law litigation, managing complex claims and applications in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and appeals in the Federal Court. He provides effective and strategic advice on liability, quantum, settlement prospects and post-litigation claims management.
Who he works with
Pietro advises and represents a diverse range of Commonwealth Government departments and agencies, insurers and self-insured licensees.
Qualifications
Pietro has Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degrees from Monash University, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Centre for Law.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore in 2016, Pietro worked at a major Australian telecommunication entity for nine years, working in complex consumer resolutions and in-house.
Life outside of Sparkes
Pietro is a proud Melburnian and avid sports fan. As a Melbourne Victory, Liverpool and Socceroos supporter, he attended the A-League Grand Final, UEFA Champions League Final and FIFA World Cup in 2018. Pietro is hopeful that someday soon he will have the opportunity to proudly celebrate Essendon’s next AFL Premiership in the Melbourne office.
