Having previously worked in Federal Government, Mya is aware of the considerations that need to be taken into account when providing advice. She enjoys receiving out the ordinary queries which challenge her to apply her knowledge to unusual circumstances.
What she does
Mya acts as the first point of contact for her Government clients and provides commercial and probity support to them throughout the life of their projects.
Mya is also a Canberra Pro Bono Coordinator, and actively manages Pro Bono activities and opportunities.
Who she works with
Mya works predominantly with State, Territory and Federal Government clients.
Qualifications
Mya has a double degree from Monash University (Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws), as well as Diploma of Languages (French). She also holds a Masters of Law (International Law) from the Australian National University, which she undertook at the same time as her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
Life before Sparkes
Working in both private and public sector, as well as in Australia and overseas, prior to commencing at Sparkes, Mya is comfortable working across teams, cultures and building relationships at all levels.
Life outside of Sparkes
As a person who loves to connect with others, languages are a keen interest for Mya. She currently has under her belt French, German, Telugu, some Spanish and Italian. She has recently travelled to Korea to undertake a language course at Yonsei University, Seoul. Outside of languages, Mya enjoys doing the bridge-to-bridge walk with friends followed by the obligatory coffee.
