Heather is an experienced defence lawyer, with a focus on personal injury claims (including workers’ compensation claims). In addition to Heather’s tort law and statutory interpretation expertise, she worked in the London Treasury Solicitor’s Office in 2006 and 2007, defending a large variety of claims.
Throughout her legal career, Heather has been involved in, and managed, workers’ compensation claims. This work has required appearances at the Conciliation and Arbitration Service, the Magistrate’s Court, the District Court and the Court of Appeal and applications for special leave to appeal to the High Court. She is very familiar with current litigation, arbitration and mediation approaches.
Heather works with Government and private sector clients including employers, insurers, brokers and claim management providers.
Heather has a Masters in Law and Bachelor of Law from University of Western Australia.
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Heather worked for other insurance law firms in Perth Australia, and at the London Treasury Solicitor’s Office in 2006 and 2007.
Heather is a first soprano. She has been a member of several choirs in Perth and has travelled to Europe to perform as part of a choral tour. Her house is filled with musical instruments that she cannot play but wishes she could.
