What he does
Grant assists clients to understand their statutory obligations and to solve legal problems arising in the local government, resources and planning or environment fields. He aims to ensure legislative requirements and clients' objectives are met and that their rights are protected when providing advice, negotiating planning agreements, acting in planning appeals or pollution investigations and prosecutions.

Grant acts for developers, planning and environment professionals, local councils and state authorities.
Qualifications
Grant holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning and a Graduate Diploma in Environment and Local Government Law.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Grant ran his own legal practice and worked as an in-house lawyer for a NSW Government department. He has also previously worked as a corporate lawyer for a local council and has extensive experience as a town planner.
Life outside of Sparkes
Grant loves spending time with his family, often on walking holidays in various parts of the world including walking the Camino de Santiago with his son in 2022. Grant plays guitar and has even made a few over the years, he also likes to jam with his friends in the band every so often.
