Emma advises claims managers, self-insurers, employers and government agencies on Commonwealth statutory classes of insurance issues, at both the claims management and litigation stages. Her clients value her strategic approach.
What she does
Working in close collaboration with her clients, Emma develops claims management strategies for litigated and non-litigated matters and advises on the future conduct of a claim including, where appropriate, the resolution of employment, rehabilitation and claims issues. She is a member of the Law Council of Australia, Federal Litigation and Dispute Resolution Section.

Qualifications
Emma has a Diploma of Law from the Legal Practitioners Admission Board and was admitted as a legal practitioner in August 1999.
Life before Sparkes
Emma joined Sparke Helmore in 1994 as a law clerk. She gained her experience in insurance law working in various areas of the firm before focusing on Commonwealth statutory insurance. She spent a few years at Curwoods Lawyers before re-joining Sparke Helmore in October 2014.
Life outside of Sparkes
A busy Mum of two young daughters, Emma spends some of her time outside of work helping at her children's school, whether it's reading groups, class parent duties, or fund-raising. She enjoys attending her daughters sporting activities, preferably with a hot coffee in hand.
