Crystal Sanders has over 20 years of extensive international insurance industry experience and Australian legal expertise, in both private practice and in-house. She has a passion for delivering pragmatic and results-oriented solutions to the most complex and strategically important challenges faced by the insurance industry today.
What she does
Crystal assists clients navigate the ever-changing expectations of regulators and stakeholders across a range of prudential, governance and financial services regulatory matters. She specialises in licensing, distribution, product innovation, regulatory compliance and investigations. Additionally, Crystal provides advice on mergers, acquisitions, reorganisations and other corporate transactions, including portfolio transfers and structured reinsurance solutions.
Who she works with
Crystal acts for a diverse range of clients, ranging from early stage start-ups to some of the world’s largest financial institutions. She advises life and general insurers, reinsurers, brokers, underwriting agencies, distributors, administrators, financial services providers and other industry participants.
Qualifications
Crystal has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. Crystal is also an ANZIIF Fellow CIP.
Life before Sparkes
Crystal began her career as a corporate governance and executive liability risk management consultant and insurance broker in Canada. She has since practised in Australia at several leading international law firms and has also worked as in-house counsel for a number of major insurers.
Life outside of Sparkes
Crystal is a long standing director of the Australasian Professional Indemnity Group and enjoys good food and wine.
