Adam is an insurance disputes lawyer with a reputation for adopting a robust approach to defending claims and given his multi-jurisdictional background, offers an out of the box approach to negotiating and resolving complex disputes.
What he does
Adam specialises in the defence of complex multi-party public liability, personal injury, and professional negligence disputes. He also has a broad range of experience with drafting and amending insurance policies and advising insurance and reinsurance companies, brokers, agents, loss adjusters, and captive entities on compliance and governance matters.
Who he works with
Adam has experience representing international insurers and reinsurers, self-insured / captives, brokers, loss adjusters, and other insurance intermediaries across Australia, the UK, and the Middle East.
Qualifications
Adam holds an LLB with honours from the Queensland University of Technology, and a GDLP from the Australian National University. He was admitted to the Queensland Supreme Court in 2013, and the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts in 2020.
Life before Sparkes
Adam worked at Moray & Agnew Lawyers in Brisbane before embarking upon an opportunity at an international law firm in London. He then worked for international and regional firms in Dubai prior to joining Sparke Helmore Lawyers in 2023.
Life outside of Sparkes
Adam has a young son who is his absolute pride and joy. In his spare time, he takes every opportunity to travel the world, having been to more than 70 countries to date, and counting. Adam is also an absolute cricket tragic such that his ideal day would be spent at the MCG.
