We are pleased to welcome Mark Gray-Spencer to Sparke Helmore as a Partner in our Specialty Lines Insurance team, effective 3 November 2025.

Mark joins us from GSG Legal, a specialist aviation and aerospace firm where he was the sole owner and Managing Principal.  Under his leadership, GSG Legal became one of the most respected aviation and aerospace insurance practices in the Asia Pacific region. Mark is consistently recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a leading lawyer in this field and has played an active role in the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand, including serving as its President.

Mark advises on a broad range of aviation and aerospace-related matters, including hull and passenger liability claims, regulatory matters, personal injury, property damages (including third party property damage on the ground), personal accident, cargo, war risks, policy coverage and policy wordings. 

He regularly acts for defendants in both litigated and non-litigated disputes, and his clients include underwriters, insurers, reinsurers, domestic and international carriers, general aviation operators, airports, maintenance and repair organisations and ground handlers.

Mark is joined by a team of four lawyers and two support staff, further strengthening our capabilities in this highly specialised field.
