Quality and consistency through collaboration

Sparke Helmore has once again been recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation awarded by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). The citation recognition covers the period 2026 – 2028.

Sparke Helmore is one of 139 employers, and 12 law firms, to receive the citation which is a voluntary leading practice recognition program. It is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces through the constant review and improvement of our policies, practices and initiatives.

The citation measures and holds us accountable against three standards of assessment:

Standard 1: Policy and Education

Standard 2: Continuous Improvement

Standard 3: Employee Experience

Naomi Simmons, Partner and Chair of our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Committee said, 'It’s fantastic to be recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality. I am really pleased about the meaningful progress we are making at Sparke Helmore. This citation reflects the firm’s commitment to achieving gender equality and will continue to keep us accountable and focused on the priorities that matter.’

Andrew White, National Managing Partner said, ‘The partners of Sparke Helmore are very pleased to be recognised once again as an Employer of Choice by WGEA. This achievement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to continuing to advance gender equality across our firm. All of our people play an important role every day in championing gender equality within their teams. This is a key part of our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), where DEI is everyone’s responsibility.

Mary Wooldridge, WGEA CEO said of the citation recipients, ‘Citation holders demonstrate strong gender-equal outcomes at the moments that matter most to women and men at work. They go beyond policy and programs, embedding gender equality into the everyday employee experience.

‘Committing to clear targets and using insights from employee surveys, these employers turn data into action, strengthening safety, fairness and opportunity for everyone in their organisation.’
