Quality and consistency through collaboration

Sparke Helmore Lawyers is pleased to announce Scott Puxty has joined the firm’s Corporate & Commercial team as a partner.

Scott was most recently a senior partner with boutique Newcastle firm, Cantle Carmichael Legal, and his practice has merged with Sparke Helmore.

Scott is a well-known and respected lawyer with a practice that spans the areas of corporate and commercial law, and commercial litigation.  Scott has demonstrated capabilities working across the SME, not for profit and aged care sectors specialising in corporate advisory, risk management, governance, commercial disputes, mergers & acquisitions and resolving internal disputes within organisations.  He has extensive experience in alternate dispute resolution and combines this with a comprehensive understanding of commercial law to achieve practical client focussed outcomes.

Scott is a Board Member of Hunter Primary Care and is also Diocesan Solicitor for the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle.

National Practice Group Leader for Corporate & Commercial, Julien Castaldi said, “We are pleased that Scott has decided to re-join Sparke Helmore; Scott was a law clerk with the firm back in the early 1990s!  I have also personally worked with Scott in the past and know that he will add a great deal of value to our business in the Hunter Valley and across regional NSW, enhancing our growth pathway.”

“I am excited about returning to Sparke Helmore where I commenced my legal career.  The move provides enormous opportunities and I am particularly looking forward to collaborating with a number of people I have previously worked with throughout my legal career”, said Scott.

Scott will be based in our Newcastle office.
