The 2019 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards was another wonderful evening and we’re delighted that our very own Head of Marketing & Communications, Merryn Stewart, was named Marketing & Communications Professional of the Year!

“I feel so humbled and excited to have won this award and I’d like to congratulate my awesome fellow finalists! A big 'thank you' to my great team at Sparke Helmore, to our National Managing Partner Phillip Salem and also to my wonderful partner who shared the evening with me,” said Merryn.

More than 700 people glammed up and attended the eighth annual Awards on Friday, 22 November at Melbourne's The Hyatt Regency. The winners came from across the business of law - from academic and legal operations to sole practitioners, partners and pro bono champions. 

BDM Director Ben Healy echoed Merryn’s sentiments, saying, “It’s an incredible effort and something we can all be proud of. The award really does recognise the tremendous contribution Merryn has made to Sparke Helmore and the BDM team, in particular.”

We’d also like to congratulate Corporate & Commercial Group Leader Shannon Platt for being on the shortlist for “Partner of the Year – Big Law” as well as our D&I and HR teams for all their efforts that led to us being a finalist in the Diversity Law Firm of the Year category.
