Congratulations to Chanel Bou-Francis, Alex Chan, Christopher Orchard and Elyse Galvin who are all celebrating a new year promotion.

Chanel (Sydney), Alex (Adelaide) and Christopher (Melbourne) have been promoted to Special Counsel and Elyse (Sydney) has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Chanel Bou-Francis, Special Counsel, Casualty

Chanel is an experienced litigator in our Commercial Insurance team, specialising in national liability disputes across the casualty, aviation, and property space, including having been seconded to the claims team for one of the firm’s largest insurer clients. During her secondment, Chanel provided complex and technical legal support in response to high profile building and construction disasters.   

Alex Chan, Special Counsel, Government Public & Regulatory

Alex is a public and administrative lawyer who advises and appears as solicitor advocate for Commonwealth agencies in administrative review of decisions made under portfolio legislation. He also provides advice on statutory interpretation and regulatory law matters for agencies.

Christopher Orchard, Special Counsel, Government Public & Regulatory

Christopher is an experienced litigator and solicitor advocate in merits and judicial review proceedings in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Federal Circuit Court, and Federal Court hearings and trials, and is an experienced litigator in large Full Federal Court and High Court matters, predominantly in public law advising and representing both government and private clients, at both Federal and State levels. He advises and represents clients in the Supreme Court of Victoria and Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.

Elyse Galvin, Senior Associate, Workplace

Elyse is an employment lawyer who assists public and private sector clients in all aspects of employment law. Elyse’s employment experience includes assisting in conducting workplace investigations, and advising on legislative compliance, litigation, drafting contracts and contractual disputes, unfair dismissal claims, general protection claims, workplace relations and discrimination.
