Julia is an insurance lawyer practising primarily in common law and workers’ compensation claims. She has experience effectively managing a large, complex file load and works with a range of clients.
What she does
Julia advises defendants in workers’ compensation and common law damages claims before the District Court, and WorkCover Conciliation and Arbitration Service. She has significant negotiation and advocacy experience and has achieved many successful outcomes for her clients at conciliation, pre-arbitration, and pre-trial conferences. Julia priorities building strong client relationships and providing strategic, cost-effective outcomes that align with her clients objectives.

Julia works with commercial insurers, self-insurers, employers, brokers and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia.
Qualifications
Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Western Australia. She also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
Life before Sparkes
Julia previously worked advising plaintiffs on workers’ compensation and common law damages matters which gives her great insight into defending these claims.
Life outside of Sparkes
Outside of work, Julia loves spending time with her family and friends and her weekends are usually spent doing so. She loves travelling the world with her husband and their son, George.
