Mark is a highly respected practitioner with deep expertise in aviation and aerospace law. He is consistently recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a leading lawyer in this field and has played an active role in the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand, including serving as its past President.
What he does
Mark advises on a broad range of aviation and aerospace-related matters, including hull and passenger liability claims, regulatory matters, personal injury, property damages (including third party property damage on the ground), personal accident, cargo, war risks, policy coverage and policy wordings.
Who he works with
Mark regularly acts for defendants in both litigated and non-litigated disputes, and his clients include underwriters, insurers, reinsurers, domestic and international carriers, general aviation operators, airports, maintenance and repair organisations and ground handlers.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW. He also has a Master of Law (International Transport Law) from the University of Sydney.

Mark joins us from GSG Legal, a specialist aviation and aerospace firm where he was the sole owner and Managing Principal. Under his leadership, GSG Legal became one of the most respected aviation and aerospace insurance practices in the Asia Pacific region.
Life outside of Sparkes
A dedicated enthusiast of horse racing, Mark owns several horses that have gone on to win high-profile races.
