Scott joined the Corporate & Commercial team as a partner in October 2023. Scott has been admitted to practice for over 30 years and is a specialist corporate and commercial lawyer, having worked in senior roles at a number of firms throughout new South Wales. He is based in Newcastle.
What he does
Scott is a well-known and respected lawyer with a practice that spans the areas of corporate and commercial law, and commercial litigation. He specialises in corporate advisory, risk management, governance, commercial disputes, mergers & acquisitions, and resolving internal disputes within organisations.
Scott also has extensive experience in alternate dispute resolution and combines this with a comprehensive experience in commercial law to achieve client focussed outcomes.
Scott is a Board Member of Hunter Primary Care and is also Diocesan Solicitor for the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle.

Qualifications
A Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, Diploma of Law and Master of Business Administration.
Life before Sparkes
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Scott was a senior partner in boutique Newcastle law firm, Cantle Carmichael Legal. Prior to this, he worked for a number of well-known law firms and also in-house as a General Counsel.
Life outside of Sparkes
Scott is a Board Member of Hunter Primary Care.
He spends his spare time with family and friends. He enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures, food and wine.
