Brendan brings a strong commercial and practical focus to the advice he gives employers. He is an experienced litigator, having acted for employers in state and federal jurisdictions. Brendan is able to quickly identify the real issues in dispute, give clients a frank assessment of the merits of their position and devise, with the client, a strategy to handle, defend or resolve the matter on acceptable terms.

Brendan has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania.
Life before Sparkes
Brendan's experience in the area of workplace relations was enhanced by two separate secondments to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, where he worked on the major legislative reforms introduced in 2006 and, more recently, with the Fair Work Act 2009.
Life outside of Sparkes
Brendan is devoted to his young family and truly believes that you cannot underestimate the restorative value of an afternoon nap on the weekend.
