Tareena specialises in public and administrative law having advised and appeared as a solicitor advocate in the Administrative Review Tribunal in merits review proceedings and the Federal Circuit and Family Court and Federal Court in judicial review proceedings. She was a finalist in the 2023 Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 Awards and the 2016 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards, Law Student of the Year.
What she does
Tareena works with various Commonwealth government entities advising and appearing in matters in the Administrative Review Tribunal, the Federal Circuit and Family Court and Federal Court. She advises on approaches for dispute resolution and has a demonstrated ability to bringing timely resolution to matter progressing through alternative dispute resolution.
Tareena is also a Mental Health First Aider.

Tareena represents Commonwealth departments and agencies in administrative law matters before Commonwealth courts and tribunals and has spent time on secondment.
Qualifications
Tareena has a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce from the University of Adelaide. She also has a Diploma of Languages and a Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law.
Life before Sparkes
Tareena grew up in Adelaide and later lived in Perth before moving to Melbourne to pursue an opportunity with Sparke Helmore’s Government Public & Regulatory team. Prior to this, Tareena worked in both private practice and in community legal centres, with a focus on migration law.
Life outside of Sparkes
Tareena loves to spend time with her family and friends, chatting away and enjoying a bubbles (or two!). She also has a passion for travelling and camping, with her favourite destinations being anywhere along the coast or waterskiing on the Murray River.
