Rebecca is a property and commercial lawyer specialising in developments, commercial sales, business sales and leasing.
What she does
Rebecca advises on various property transactions including commercial, rural, industrial, retail and business sales and leasing. She has extensive experience in drafting and advising on property developments including off-the-plan contracts, disclosure statements, due diligence and easements.
Rebecca acts for hotel developers and managers, advising them on managed investment schemes in the real property sphere and the financial services provisions of the Corporations Act. Additionally, Rebecca advises on body corporate matters, option agreements and company and trust matters such as share sale and shareholders’ agreements and unit sale and unitholders’ agreements.
Who she works with
Rebecca works with corporate clients and individuals including property developers, hotel managers, private lenders for non-domestic loans, bodies corporate and responsible entities.
Qualifications
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology.
Life before Sparkes
Rebecca was admitted as a solicitor in 1993 and had been with Woods Prince Lawyers (formerly Poteri Woods Solicitors when she started her career) for more than 30 years when it merged with Sparke Helmore.
Life outside of Sparkes
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys reading, travelling and history podcasts. Rebecca swims laps and walks her dog for exercise and enjoys meeting up with friends for coffee and to try new cuisines.
