Melanie has more than 10 years’ experience and specialises in managing complex claims and disputes for a wide range of clients in the Supreme Court, Local Court, Work Health Court and Fair Work Commission.
What she does
Melanie advises clients on workers compensation, work health and safety, commercial and business disputes and employment law issues, including unfair dismissal claims and conducting investigations.
Who she works with
Melanie works with compensation insurers, local councils, businesses and Northern Territory Government departments and agencies.
Qualifications
Melanie has a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Charles Darwin University and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration and Bachelor of Arts (Politics) from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.
Life before Sparkes
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore, Melanie worked at Roussos Legal Advisory, a Darwin law practice involved in many varied and complicated matters, assisting clients across the Northern Territory.
Life outside of Sparkes
Melanie enjoys mountain biking and reformer Pilates. She enjoys fast-paced netball and follows the Super Netball. She is passionate about improving the understanding of laws relating to assistance animals.
