Max specialises in state-based workers’ compensation litigation, advising both registered agents and self-insured clients. Max has extensive experience appearing before the South Australian Employment Tribunal.
What he does
Max provides strategic advice at all levels of claims management and is involved in litigation from beginning to end. He provides comprehensive written advice on liability, quantum and strategy. Max focuses on minimising claims liability from the outset of a dispute and is adept at articulating and defending his clients’ positions.

Max advises employers, self-insured employers and Return to Work SA agents.
Qualifications
Max holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Flinders University. He was admitted to practice in South Australia and is a Member of the Law Society.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Max began as a lawyer at Duddy Shopov Lawyers representing employers and self-insured employers in workers compensation matters and more generally in personal injury law prior to beginning with Sparke Helmore in January 2019.
