Laura is an experienced solicitor-advocate who specialises in Commonwealth workers’ compensation, social security and other areas of administrative law.
What she does
Laura provides strategic litigation and claims management advice, focussing on matters of liability, quantum and settlement prospects. She regularly appears in the Administrative Review Tribunal in merits review proceedings and the Federal Court of Australia in judicial review proceedings. She is also skilled in using a range of alternate dispute resolution processes.
Who she works with
Laura works with various Commonwealth clients and licensees in the workers compensation area. She understands the importance of establishing a collaborative working relationship with clients to achieve effective claims resolution outcomes.
Qualifications
Laura has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of International Studies from the University of Adelaide. Laura has also completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the Law Society of South Australia.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Laura was an Associate in the District Court of South Australia working in both the criminal and civil jurisdictions for a number of District Court Judges.
Life outside of Sparkes
Laura loves spending time with her young family, in particular travelling to the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia to spend time on the beach and enjoy the spectacular coastal walks.
