Kellie is an experienced lawyer who specialises in Commonwealth compensation, social security and administrative law. She regularly appears as a solicitor-advocate in merits and judicial review proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal and the Federal Court.
What she does
Kellie provides strategic litigation and claims management advice on a range of regarding Commonwealth compensation and administrative law. She advises on liability, quantum, and works closely with clients to effectively resolve matters through alternative dispute resolution. She has developed a thorough understanding of clients’ needs through various secondments and is an experienced solicitor-advocate.
Who she works with
Kellie advises and represents a broad range of Commonwealth Government departments, as well as agencies, insurers and self-insured licensees.
Qualifications
Kellie has a Bachelor of Arts, specialising in Italian and French, and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University. She obtained her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law.
Life before Sparkes
Kellie joined Sparkes straight after completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She joined the Commonwealth Compensation team after completing her rotation.
Life outside of Sparkes
After growing up in Queensland, Kellie has embraced all aspects of Melbourne life—except the weather—and is always prepared with restaurant recommendations for interstate visitors. She can otherwise be found spending time with friends or planning her next holiday.
