About Julia

Julia is a corporate and commercial lawyer, specialising in commercial contracting, private mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and corporate advisory. Julia advises clients across a range of sectors, including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), logistics, manufacturing, sportswear, and food and beverage. She has completed secondments in both the FMCG and logistics industries.

Julia advises her clients on private M&A, corporate structuring and restructuring, and business sales and purchases. Her practice also includes a wide range of corporate advisory matters, including shareholder arrangements, governance issues, and the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex commercial contracts across diverse industry sectors.

Qualifications

Julia has a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Communications majoring in Journalism, from the University of Technology, Sydney. Julia received her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.


Life before Sparkes

After graduating in Sydney, Julia began her legal career in Newcastle, focusing on property law and conveyancing. She later expanded into commercial law and wills and estates before joining Sparke Helmore’s property team in 2021.


Life outside of Sparkes

Outside of work, Julia enjoys staying active through running, cycling, and competing in triathlons. She also loves to travel, experiment in the kitchen, and spend quality time with friends, whether discovering new places or enjoying a night out.
