Jesse is an experienced lawyer and litigator who specialises in administrative law advice. He regularly appears as a solicitor advocate in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court in judicial review proceedings and the Administrative Review Tribunal in merits review proceedings.
What he does
Jesse has a broad range of litigation experience. In his current role, he primarily represents Commonwealth Government entities in matters involving merits and judicial review proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal, the Federal Circuit and Family Court and the Federal Court.

Qualifications
Jesse holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Victoria University of Wellington.
Life before Sparkes
Prior to joining Sparke Helmore in 2025, Jesse worked as an assistant crown counsel and criminal defence lawyer in New Zealand.
Life outside of Sparkes
Jesse is a keen trail runner who loves to get out into the Australian bush. On weekends and holidays, he enjoys packing a tent and surfboard and travelling down the Great Ocean Road. Jesse otherwise enjoys Melbourne’s bars and restaurants where he often meets with friends to discuss the state of New Zealand cricket.
