Brendan has more than 10 years’ experience as a litigator, advising individuals and corporations in managing the risk of potential litigation and preparing for impending litigation. He enjoys the challenges of advocacy and working closely with his clients to find the best legal solution for their needs.
What he does
Brendan works with his clients across all stages of a potential dispute, including advising in respect to risk avoidance and management, pre-litigation strategy and acting in court proceedings in a broad range of State and Federal jurisdictions.
Brendan also contributes to the local community through pro bono legal work.
Who he works with
Brendan advises and represents individuals and corporations (large and small) across a number of areas that can result in litigation, including shareholder/director, leasing, estate, trust, contract, employment, negligence/professional negligence, and restraint of trade disputes.
Qualifications
Brendan has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Psychological Science from Griffith University, Brisbane.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Brendan was a Special Counsel in the Commercial Litigation team of Woods Prince Lawyers. Prior to this, he practiced as a litigation lawyer at two boutique law firms in Brisbane.
Life outside of Sparkes
When not at work, Brendan enjoys spending time with his young family at home in the Samford Valley, watching as much sport as he can (particularly the NRL, NBA, the Reds and Wallabies), travelling and adding to his record collection and wine cellar.
