Alex is an administrative lawyer and solicitor advocate who regularly appears for Commonwealth departments and agencies in the Federal Courts and Tribunals. Alex is also an experienced educator who designs legal training and educational programs.
What he does
Alex represents Commonwealth Government departments and agencies in merits review and judicial review proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal, the Federal Circuit and Family Court, the Federal Court, and the High Court.
Alex is also an Associate Teacher at the Adelaide Law School and teaches Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and Separation of Powers.

Qualifications
Alex holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Pathology) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Adelaide.
Life before Sparkes
Alex began his career as an Associate to a Deputy President of the Administrative Review Tribunal and a tutor in Constitutional Law.
Life outside of Sparkes
Alex is a musician who specialises in vocals, harp and guitar, and has performed at weddings and community theatre projects. He is also a bit of an antique collector and is especially fond of gramophones and vintage records.
