The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Australia is part of a global network spanning over 85 countries with more than 40,000 in-house counsel employed by more than 10,000 organisations. It is the peak national association representing the interests of in-house counsel working for corporations and government in Australia. ACC Australia works to provide its members and in-house lawyers, with the very best representation, advice, education and resources to further the profession.
Each year ACC Australia hosts its National Conference and In-house Lawyer of the Year Awards. These awards recognise excellence in the provision of legal services and the contribution made by in-house lawyers whether in government or business legal departments.
The 2017 National Conference and In-house Lawyer Awards was held in Alice Springs on 15-17 November. Sparke Helmore was proud to be a sponsor of the Government Lawyer of the Year award category for the sixth consecutive year. In-house government lawyers with more than six years' experience are recognised in this award for their service, leadership, overall contribution and knowledge within the regulated or policy environment.
